Impressive resolution in a versatile 35mm lens

The two XA elements in this compact G Master take advantage of the short, mirrorless flange focal length for greater contrast and resolution. The superior optical quality of the lens is further enhanced by an ED glass element that reduces aberrations and Sony's AR Nano Coating II, which ensures excellent image clarity in all lighting conditions

Lightweight and compact for excellent portability and handling

Although the lens features two precise XA (Extreme Aspherical) elements and delivers outstanding G Master quality, it is compact and handy, weighing only 524 g. The FE 35 mm F1.4 GM offers excellent portability and handling in a wide range of environments and shooting situations.

Optimized G Master Bokeh and high flexibility

XA elements reduce onion rings in bokeh, the 11-blade aperture is nearly circular even when the lens is wide open, and careful control of spherical aberrations in design and manufacturing contribute to beautiful bokeh at F1.4. Further optimizations allow for a minimum focus distance of 27 cm and a maximum magnification of 0.23x.  

Faster, more precise and quieter AF thanks to XD linear motor

Two XD (Extreme Dynamic) linear motors from Sony enable fast, precise, quiet AF and reliable tracking, maximizing the benefits of the E-mount system. Advanced control algorithms specifically for XD linear motors minimize vibration and noise, while Sony's MF linear response function provides direct, linear manual focus response.

Professional control and reliability

Focus hold button, focus ring and other controls provide smooth, efficient operation. If needed, additional functions can be assigned to the focus hold button via camera menu settings. The fluorine coating on the front lens and the dust- and splash-proof constructionprovide maximum reliability even in demanding conditions.
