The new Limited Edition lens has many special features. It is the first zoom lens in this series and it is the first lens in this series with special seals against dust and weather. Fully rounded aperture blades for a particularly beautiful bokeh and an input speed of F2.8 (in the wide-angle range) are further highlights of the new lens. These, the particularly quiet and fast DC motor for focusing and the universal focal length range make the new HD PENTAX-DA 20-40 mm / F2.8~4ED Limited DC WR the new star of the ?Limited Edition? series.
Universal focal length range
With a focal length of 20 - 40 mm (30.5 ? 61.5 mm KB-equiv.), the double zoom lens covers a range from wide-angle to extended standard focal length, making it very universal in use for landscape photography, snapshots and portraits. In a word, the perfect everyday lens.
Perfect image quality
The image quality of the Limited Edition lenses ranks right at the upper limit of what is possible. The particularly high image quality of these lenses never ceases to delight photographers. And so the new HD PENTAX-DA 20-40 mm / F2.8~4 ED Limited DC WR is also uncompromisingly optimized for high imaging performance.
With the new PENTAX HD coating, particularly high transmission values are achieved. With a reduction in reflection to less than 50% compared to conventional coating, this lens enables particularly sharp and high-contrast images.
ED glass elements compensate for chromatic aberration and are thus responsible for special resolving power and perfect sharpness across the entire image area from corner to corner.
The design allows the photographer to play perfectly with the aperture and enables perfect bokeh at shallow depth of field thanks to the round aperture blades.
High-quality workmanship
The aluminum lens barrel underscores the high standards of lens manufacturing. The fluted design of the zoom ring allows for particularly comfortable focal length adjustment. The attention to detail is also evident in the design of the front lens cap and the lens hood, which are also made of aluminum.
The dustproof and weatherproof design with seven special sealing rings deserves special attention. In combination with a weatherproof PENTAX digital camera, the construction allows use even under the most difficult environmental conditions. The PENTAX SP coating (Super Protect) protects the front lens of the lens from dirt.
For the first time in a Limited Edition lens, the especially quiet and fast DC motor is used for focusing. This makes photography even more fun.
