Compact and lightweight rangefinder style camera

The FUJIFILM GFX 50R weighs just 775 grams, about 145 grams lighter than the GFX 50S (weight 920 grams with EVF), which is already a lightweight and compact model among existing digital medium format cameras. The GFX 50R camera body is only 66.4 millimeters thick, 25 millimeters thinner than the GFX 50S body. This makes it even more portable and easier to store.

The rangefinder camera design of the GFX 50R allows the photographer to keep an eye on the subject while looking through the viewfinder with the other eye. This gives the photographer a good overview of the overall scene and beyond the frame displayed in the electronic viewfinder.

The GFX 50R's electronic viewfinder has 3.69 million pixels and offers 0.77x magnification. This enables accurate focusing despite the large medium-format sensor, which has a shallower depth of field than a full-frame sensor when shooting at the same angle of view.

Equipped with 51.4 megapixel medium format sensor and X-Processor Pro

The FUJIFILM GFX 50R features a 43.8 x 32.9 mm CMOS medium format sensor with 51.4 megapixels. The sensor combines FUJIFILM's decades of experience and expertise in medium format photography with state-of-the-art digital technology. Combined with the high-performance GF lenses, superior tonal reproduction and extremely high image resolution are achieved.

The microlens design and signal processing have been optimized to provide the highest level of sharpness and a wide dynamic range. The low base sensitivity of ISO 100 and high dynamic range of 14 stops (14-bit RAW) allow extremely detailed images with natural skin tones and accurate color reproduction.

The GFX 50R's X-Processor Pro is optimally set up to process the large data volumes of the 51.4 megapixel sensor. This not only allows a high working speed, but also contributes to the camera's remarkable performance range. FUJIFILM's unique film simulations, internal RAW conversion to 8-bit TIFF, precise contrast autofocus, short power-on time, very fast shutter release time and fast frame rate are only possible thanks to the X- Processor Pro.

Robust and weatherproof housing

In the production of the compact and lightweight housing, FUJIFILM has placed a high value on details to enable perfect operation. This is visible in the design language of individual components as well as in the surface structure of the magnesium components

of the magnesium components. The two dials for shutter speed and exposure compensation were milled from solid aluminum blocks and convey a high-quality feel. Of particular refinement is the mechanics of the dials, whose precise position is confirmed by a fine click.

The GFX 50R is also equipped with a focus joystick. With it, the focus range can be adjusted conveniently and quickly without having to take the camera away from the eye.

The extremely rugged magnesium alloy body is sealed at 64 points. The GFX 50R is dust-proof, weather-resistant and fully operational in temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius.

Bluetooth® compatibility first in GFX series

The GFX 50R is the first model in the GFX series to support low-power Bluetooth® technology. Captured images can be easily and instantly transferred to smartphones and tablets previously paired with the camera via the FUJIFILM Camera Remote app.

35mm format mode

In the GFX 50R's 35mm format mode, only a 36.0 x 24.0 mm (30.5 megapixel) area in the center of the sensor is used for shooting. When using adapters for 35mm format lenses, the image size can be adjusted to the smaller image circle using the function.
