Like the camera, the Power Booster battery grip for the X-T2 is dust- and splash-proof and cold-resistant down to minus ten degrees. Two batteries fit in the grip, so that a total of three batteries, including the battery in the camera, can be used simultaneously. The battery power is then sufficient for up to 1,000 pictures (normal mode).

In Boost mode, the X-T2's performance increases in continuous shooting, shooting interval, shutter lag and blackout time. It also extends the possible length of 4K videos to about 30 minutes. The Power Booster handgrip features a shutter release button, focus lever, AE-L and AF-L buttons, command dials, Q button, and Fn button, providing excellent comfort when shooting in portrait mode as well as landscape mode.

The handgrip also has a headphone jack to control audio during video production. In addition, the VPB-XT2 has battery charging functionality so that two batteries can be charged simultaneously in about 2 hours using the included AC-9VS adapter.
