The 30.4-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor delivers low-noise images with tremendous detail, even in high brightness or darkness. With the higher resolution, nothing is lost and you can crop the image as needed without loss of quality.

Rethink and refine

Each of the EOS 5D Mark IV's 30 million pixels consists of two photodiodes, used either together or individually. This technology enables the creation of Dual Pixel RAW (DPRAW) files, which contain two shots from very slightly different angles. When post-processed with Digital Photo Professional software, DPRAW files offer the photographer the ability to adjust the image so that sharpness is where it should be.

Exceptional low-light shooting

Low-light characteristics have been optimized across the entire ISO range: Image noise has been significantly reduced and maximum sensitivity has been increased to ISO 32,000 (expandable to ISO 102,400). This makes it possible to record reliably with high image quality even in low light.

Image processing at a new level

Built-in Lens Aberration Correction optimizes lens performance by automatically compensating for diffraction, distortion, and chromatic aberrations for visibly better images.

Digital Lens Optimizer

The Digital Lens Optimizer provides an additional layer of correction by compensating for other optical effects, including the effect of the camera's optical low-pass filter. The result: optimized performance and incredible image quality.

Sharpness, contrast and color

The EOS 5D Mark IV offers a choice of Auto White Balance (AWB) settings for artificial light: Priority Ambient aims to retain the mostly warm tones of an artificial light source to most accurately reproduce the atmosphere of a scene. Priority White, on the other hand, eliminates these hues as much as possible, resulting in shots with more neutral colors.

Every detail clearly captured

The "Fine Detail" image style is now also available on the EOS 5D Mark IV to further optimize the ability to capture the finest details on the 30.4-megapixel sensor. In this setting, color gradations are prioritized for even better highlighting of details. 

The Fine Detail image style offers three parameters for sharpness adjustment. These parameters are similar to the Unsharp Mask option in Adobe Photoshop and Canon DPP software.

A processor for more power

At the heart of the EOS 5D Mark IV is the fast DIGIC 6+ processor that controls the camera. This includes converting sensor data into high-quality image data that features high detail, low noise, accurate colors and natural skin tones.

Capture every moment frame by frame

The EOS 5D Mark IV was designed with performance in mind, enabling continuous shooting at up to 7 frames per second with full AF and auto exposure for up to 21 RAW images or an unlimited number of JPEGs in a sequence. So you're always ready for the next shot. In Live View mode, continuous shooting is possible at up to 4.3 fps with AF tracking. So you're always ready for the next shot.

Sharp and accurate LCD touchscreen

The high-resolution 3.2-inch LCD with intuitive touchscreen controls makes the EOS 5D Mark IV a pleasure to work with. Tapping brings up menu items, and back-and-forth swiping makes it easy to scroll through images. Four color tone options allow clear viewing of the LCD day and night.

Quiet, discreet shooting

Selecting Quiet Shooting mode on the EOS 5D Mark IV reduces shutter noise to a minimum. Special damping allows the camera to be used quietly even in environments where it's completely silent.

Clear and crisp: image viewing, composition and shooting

The intelligent viewfinder, Intelligent Viewfinder II, superimposes information such as the electronic level and provides a bright and clear view of the scene in front of the camera with a field of view of nearly 100%. The information displayed is clear and can be adjusted as needed, allowing for easy and precise image composition.
