Compact system camera with large-format 51.4-megapixel sensor and built-in image stabilization

The GFX50S II features a large-format 51.4-megapixel image sensor. It is approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35mm ("full-frame") sensor and features a high dynamic range and excellent signal-to-noise ratio. In conjunction with the powerful X-Processor 4, brilliant image quality is achieved. The images impress with rich tonal reproduction, low image noise and well-drawn shadows and highlights. In combination with a lens from the GF series, a consistently high resolution over the entire image area and an almost three-dimensional image effect are achieved.

The GFX50S II's "Pixel Shift Multi-Shot" function allows ultra-high resolution images to be created at 200 megapixels. The images are characterized by a high level of detail and a natural color impression without false colors. This makes the GFX50S II the ideal camera for documentation work in museums and archives, as well as other photographic applications where maximum color and detail fidelity are essential.

The GFX50S II weighs only 900 grams and is particularly suitable for use without a tripod. The camera, which is no larger than a 35mm sensor model, has an advanced five-axis image stabilization system (IBIS) that effectively prevents camera shake and allows sharp images at up to 6.5 EV stops* at slower shutter speeds. The IBIS system is particularly beneficial when shooting freehand in low-light conditions, such as indoors and after dark, and when shooting at long telephoto focal lengths.

The rugged magnesium body is additionally reinforced around the bayonet mount to ensure the best possible stability when using larger and heavier lenses. It is protected against splash water and dust and can be used in low temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius. Its handiness and ruggedness allow the new GFX50S II to be used in areas where conventional medium format cameras have had little or no use.
